Fancy Box- July 2013

I love the color of July's Fancy Box! It was like a light red or a rose color :) I have taken to using the boxes in the garage to organize things and next to each other they look so cheery!

Lately I have been getting 2 sets of product cards. One set is in the box, and the other is in the invoice envelope with the stickers and the receipt.

This Aqua Pouch Speaker is awesome! I have been using another speaker from an earlier box to listen to my music when I shower, but this thing hangs from a hook right in the shower with me and I can jam out to my music and change the songs with out worrying about getting my phone soaked! And it is pink....I love pink things :)

Admittedly these sunglasses do not look that great on me, but I have been wearing the sh*t out of them! I tossed them in my new Mini Cooper and they are my back ups when I can not find my Ray-Bans. They are lightweight and comfy and I like the tortoise-shell coloring.

I am going to be a little judgmental, but this shark's tooth necklace by Sophie Sparrow is kind of ugly. It has a really rough finish and looks like an acorn with a serrated edge.....yuck. Trying to think of something to do with this. Suggestions welcome!

Cute!! This Chef'n Burger Machine Patty Press is kind of a neat little kitchen toy. It will measure out the perfect size patty and you just stamp away like a cookie cutter! Neat idea!

Also from Chef'n is this awesome Veggichop thing that is powered by a rip cord like a lawn mower! Talk about easily making salsa or guac or coleslaw!!

And there is July's box! Always useful items included :) You have to love that!

Ipsy Glam Bag- July 2013

Ipsy's July Glam Bag was seriously summery! I was very excited to see the neon pink cosmetic bag and travel sized beach spray :)

I am always seeking a nice texturizer for my hair and this Soy Renewal Beach Spray from Healthy Sexy Hair did not disappoint! Not only did it smell nice, but it did not have a weird stiff or dry texture when applied. It just felt like I had been outside at a windy beach!

This California Collection Palette from BHCosmetics is absolutely adorable! I loved the color combo and how the shadows were named after cities. My only complaint is that "Hollywood" was not pigmented enough. It looks awesomely vibrant, but once applied it is actually lighter and more of a neutral color. All together they give a beautiful, almost sunset like, color combination that all my friends were complimenting me on.

I have not had a chance to use this yet (due to my lack of going anywhere sunny this summer) but I love the idea of an Organic Suncare Mineral Sunscreen from Coola. This is small enough to toss in my purse and I look forward to it coming in handy if I do get to the beach!

This incredibly pigmented Pouty Pop Crayon from Pop Beauty made my lips pop with a nice coral color! It went on nice and smooth and had a silky soft and light texture.

I always love getting a nail polish in my bags, and especially one from Nailtini! This one, called "mimosa" was a very summery yet neutral color for summer and it really set my tan off! I loved it! And I think that Nailtini has great quality polishes :)

Next month's bag is already here, so let me get to reviewing for August!

Bark Box- July 2013

Oh my spoiled little boy couldn't wait to get into his July Bark Box!

He was nosing his way though the goodies the second I popped the tape open!

This pocket bone from Wigzi was a hit! He now alternates between his eggplant and this green bone and I watch him toss it too himself :)

I take these No Grainers Soft Chews and stick them in the pockets of that green bone. Albeit, they do not stay in there very long, but he does enjoy getting them out and eating them.

These Natural Organic Banana and Coconut treats from Max & Ruffy's really piqued Bentley's interest. He would not take his nose off the bag. They smell strongly of banana and I did not think he would be interested once the bag was open....but I was wrong! He ate 2 and then begged for more!

I am saving this Cool Treats Smoothie for Dogs for Bentley and my "last summer downtown walk" before I go back to school. Such a cute idea! I know Bentley loves ice cream so I am sure this will be a hit.

This Soft Made Flexi-bowl is awesome! This will come in handy when Bentley and I are on the move! It scrunches down into almost nothing and then pops right back up! I can wash it out easily and it is sturdy enough for water and dog food.....genius!

These tender stikz from Sliders were a huge hit as well! Bentley was having some anxiety when he had to go into his kennel and these were the perfect treat to distract him while I ran off to work :) Once I gave him this he was totally focused on chewing it to death and he did not even noticed that I closed the kennel door and slipped out of the room!

Another awesome Bark Box for July!!

Goodies Box- June 2013

June's Goodies box was much anticipated this month. I don't know if I was having a craving or if I just knew it would be really good this month ;)

Such a cute card in this month's box! They never include any information on the products on the back of these cards, just a code for people to use to sign up. It doesn't give anyone one any money off a box though.....so I am not sure what the purpose is.

Ohhhh goodness. Now originally when I joined they had a survey to take and it said that I am a "sweet tooth", but this box is jam packed full of salty things! I think they have stopped doing separate boxes on taste and they just send out one box....which I am totally ok with since they have great stuff in them each month!

Highland All Butter Shortbread- Holy...moly. Delicious! I am used to stealing a pack of Lorna Doone cookies from the snack basket at work, but these shortbread cookies were fantastic! And probably horrible for me but sooooo worth it. They were buttery and fell apart in my mouth and had a little bit of a crunch to them. Yum!

Dream Water- This little bottle is supposed to help you relax and get to sleep at night. I drank it 30 minutes before I was supposed to be asleep and I am not sure if I was just exhausted from the day or if this stuff actually relaxed me, but I did have a good nights sleep! If I see these in the store I may pick a few more up and give them a try on nights where I really can't unwind and see if it was just a fluke or not. It did not have much in the way of flavor and was very watery and not unpleasant to drink so I wouldn't mind having them again.

Pastitas Tomato Basil Pasta Chips- straight. up. cardboard. Yup. That's what these tasted like. And let's not forget salty. It was salty cardboard. I even had my co-worker try these to see if it was just me and had her give me her opinion before I voiced my own....she said exactly what I was thinking. I am not a big pasta person, but she is, and we were both underwhelmed with these.

GimMe Honey Dijon Roasted Seaweed Snack- Ugh these were such a let down. They were not crunchy like I expected and the honey dijon flavor was so strong it turned my stomach.

Lays Stax in Que Rico- Now I am not sure why my Lays were all in Spanish....but wow these were good! They are like Pringles, but thicker and with a more satisfying crunch. The flavor was kind of spicy and bold, which was awesome. I could not put these down once I opened them so I know they are too dangerous to keep in the house!

Pringles Stix in Cheese- Ugh....just....yuck. These were so nasty. The cheese flavor tasted fake and cheap, the texture of the sticks was like cardboard and they just were revolting. Kind of disappointing actually but I guess they can't all be a winner.

Ipsy Glam Bag- June 2013

June's Ipsy Glam Bag is here and I couldn't wait to see what they included for their "On The Wild Side" theme.

I love the cosmetic bag for this month! It is one of my top favorites to date :)

Psssst! Instant Dry Shampoo- I love a good dry shampoo and have been using the Not Your Mother's Clean Freak which I really like (because it works and its affordable). This claims to be the original so I was very excited to try it!
Post-Trial: I spritzed this stuff in my hair when I was rushing to get ready to go to a Drag Show (it was awesome by the way!) and I was pleased that it did not have a white-powdery finish to it that I had to make sure I massaged out, but it still left my just as oily which was disappointing.  I won't count it out yet and I will give it another try to see if it was just because it was the first use of the can....we shall see.

NYX Cream Blush in "Orange"- I was a bit afraid of this color when I first looked at it, but after applying it very sparingly to the apples of my cheeks I fell in love with it! It is straight-up orange in color, it is very creamy and blends nicely, it does not leave a sticky finish, and it stays all day! I am thinking about trying this in other colors because it goes on so nicely.

StarLooks Lip Pencil in "Tipsy"- This ended up being brighter than I thought it would be. It went on really smooth with no feathering though! I ended up pairing it with the lipstick that was in this month's Glossybox and it looked fantastic! I am not much of a lipstick person, but under the lipstick this looked more natural.

J. Cats Sparkling Cream Palette- I was so excited when I first saw this! Allllll the gllllllitttttttterrrrrr!  However, when I tried to apply it, it ended up having the consistency of cheap children's make up .....and it looked like it too. The glitter is not concentrated enough so it ends up clumping and looking like bad Halloween make up. I was so disappointed. I am going to continue playing with it to see if I can get it to work better with different applicators or if I need to apply it in layers or something....wish me luck!

Cailyn Liquid Eyeliner Set in Purple- Can I just say how I love having the pot and the brush for my eyeliner all together??? It's awesome! The cream liner is a flattering dark purple and it goes on very smooth with no clumping or catching. The brush is soft and makes applying this liner really simple. I am sold on this little gem and will be looking for it in other colors!

And there is June's Ipsy Glam Bag! I still maintain that for $10 a month this subscription rocks! And is totally worth it :)

Costal.com Free Glasses Review

So, you might have seen advertisements on facebook for Coastal.com and the "firstpairfree" offer.......well I gave it a try because I needed a new Rx for my glasses and I did not want to shell out an arm and a leg for glasses.

Now, I worked for Lenscrafters for 4 years as an apprentice optician, so I am a bit of a glasses snob and I really did not expect much from this free pair.
The frames that are available for free are not name brand, but they are actually very trendy and cute. After browsing the site for over 30 minutes, I finally decided on the Derek Cardigan 7008 Fog glasses. They are plastic frames with spring hinges and all the information on the frames was clearly laid out in the product info. They give you the option to see the frames on a bunch of different face shapes which was very helpful.
I have to say I was a little worried about them fitting over my big ol' head, but they do allow you to return your order even if they were a free pair.

After using the "firstpairfree" discount code, all I had to do was pay for shipping which came to $9.95. I believe it took about a week and a half to receive my order and I was really excited to see how nicely everything was packed!
They even included a nice hard case and a little kit which included cleaning solution, a microfiber cloth and a key chain with screwdriver.

Admittedly they are not the highest quality of frames, but they do the job of holding the lenses! And they really look adorable. I was shocked that they fit as well as they did and just needed minor adjusting on the temples to get them to fit like a glove. The lenses have anti-reflective coating on both the front and the back, which was a huge shocker since I thought there would be none since they are free plastic lenses. After wearing them for about a week I have no complaints. The Rx is working great and I am getting fewer headaches so I am guessing they got it right :P

Ignore my expression in this picture (it has been really rough at work) but do not ignore how well the glasses fit! I get tons of compliments on them and they are so different from what everyone is wearing that I love wearing them as an accessory.

These were definitely worth the cost of shipping and even though I did end up getting a pair of Michael Kors frames (which I love as well) these are an awesome back up pair if nothing else!

I have already referred several friends to Coastal.com to get a pair of glasses. I am excited to see what they think :)

Fancy Box- June 2013

June's Fancy Box is in and I could not wait to see what was in side this month's fun, yellow box!

Here are all the product cards from this month. I did not include one (by mistake) but it was just a discount card for some kind of shoes that I was not interested in. I am debating putting the Fancy Popsicle sticker on my car....can't make up my mind just yet.

Very Fancy T-shirt- this is going to look bad-ass once I cut off the sleeves and maybe tie up the sides. Awesome gym shirt for sure!

Lomo Camera and Film- Oh now this is cool. I may have to document either the rest of my summer or the beginning of my radiology school with this little guy! And of course frame all the pictures and make a cool collage in my room :)

45 degree Tilt Mug- This adorable little mug sits on an angle and has this little filter to put loose tea or coffee in while you pour in hot water. What a nifty little idea.

Kikkerland Bamboo Paper Straws- These are so adorable! And biodegradable :) I can't wait to try them out with all my fun summer drinks!

This month's box was not as awesome as past month's, but the camera is pretty cool, I can always use a new gym t-shirt, and who doesn't like having an extra mug and cute straws around? Maybe for August or September they will have cool "back to school" themed products.
