It finally made it! Glossybox emailed me after my box was late and let me know they were giving out 50 extra glossy points because there was such a high demand for the Man Repeller Box. I love that they acknowledged the high demand, communicated that to their customers and offered at least something little to make you feel a bit better about the wait.....
....and I am thinking it was worth the wait :)
Love the way it was packaged! Any way, on to the products :)
I love hair products and this Potion 9 by Sebastian Professional did not disappoint! I used about 3 pumps of this orange colored styling treatment and about a quarter size dollop of Argan oil and dried my hair with a round brush. WOW! My hair was so incredibly silky and smooth that I did not even need to break out the flat iron. My hair was not heavy and the treatment was not sticky which was wonderful. I read that you can also use some of this on dry hair as a texturizer. This is quickly becoming a favorite product! This is a very large sample bottle, as a full size is about 5 oz and goes for about $17 (at Target).
This was the first product I tried. I could not wait to feel the "liquid sand" finish, so I painted over my existing toe nail polish. While I do not love the color, the finish is kind of fun! It is not exactly matte finish, but it does feel like it has sand in it which was kind of fun. I am going to attempt to change the color by using eye shadow....we shall see how that turns out. This bottle goes for about $7.
UPDATE: Here is the OPI polish after I have added black eyeshadow and BAM! It improved it 100%. It is now a deep eggplant or midnight purple color and the lavender glitter stands out. The sand finish works much better with the darker color.
I have never really been a fan of Estee Lauder and this Sumptuous Extreme mascara reminded me why. While this leads you to believe you will have large, glamorous lashes....they did no thing for mine. After applying my lashes were just as thin as they are naturally and just black. No matter how many layers I put on, there were no fantastic results :( This tester tube will be kept around for a rainy day, but I do not see myself using it.
This sample tube of Fresh Mattifying Serum was nice. A pea-sized amount was enough to cover my whole face and it had a nice feel to it after applied. I did not notice a ton of mattifying, but I did only use it right before going to bed. It has an "organic" smell to it, but instead of being gross it smells more like rose hips.
This perfume sample from Narciso Rodriguez was very light, feminine, and flowery. It was too subtle for my tastes, but it was a nice, gentle scent.
I adore this Natural Cheek Tint by Tarte! It is a nice coral color which looks great and it is so easy to apply! It is a tad bit gritty but once you apply it, it looks great and goes on smooth. I even put a little on my lips and it looked nice. I could not find this compact when I searched for it, but it is one of the full sized products in the box :)
This little packet of Replenishing Daily Solution from Le Metier De Beaute was alright. It was a light pink color and a little thick. When I applied it, it took forever for me to rub it in even though I only used a little bit. It made my skin feel like it had a mask on though. I was not really a fan.
I loved the Man Repeller box and I am glad Glossybox partnered up with her for a fantastic selection of products. I hope they do it again this year!
*I apologize for the review being so quick and thrown together. My new job (that I am LOVING) has me working 11+ hour days and while I am enjoying the overtime, it does not leave me much time for blogging. I hope once they have another staff member I will have more time back :)
