February 2013 Glossybox

Yeeeeeeey! February's Glossybox is here and I could not wait to get it open and see what was inside.

This month's Glossy Mag had a fun cover and the theme was International Style Icons. All the products were from around different parts of the world.

International style :) So what kinds of products have they found for us to explore....

Missha's Super Aqua Cell Renewal Snail Hydro Gel Mask.....wait....snail??? Yeah, this mask is made with snail slime and is an Asian beauty secret. It is supposed to moisturize, sooth, regenerate your skin and reverse skin damage. It grossed out people at work when I was talking about it, but honestly I am really excited to try it!

A worldwide trend are nail wraps and these Leopard Print Nail Wraps from Nail Rock are super fierce! I have been trying different brands and types of these lately and I can not wait for my nails to get a little longer so that I put these on and have my silent rebel yell at work :)

This Lisi Sheer Sparkle Lip Gloss is exclusively available at a NY beauty boutique. I LOVE the color of this gloss! It is just pink enough, just sparkly enough, just glossy enough, and has a very pleasant scent/taste. The only draw back is that it is super thick and a bit tacky, but the good thing about it being thick is that it stays on for hours! This was a quick favorite and I have been leaving it in my scrub top during work for quick reapplications.

This versatile Shimmer Powder from Da Vinci Cosmetics is a gorgeous dusty rose color....but the color name is "Wild Lilac". The info on the product says you can use it with eyeshadow, under your eyebrow, or as a cheek highlighter.  This stuff is SUPER shimmery and I can see myself packing this on to my eyelid up in to the crease on top of a nude base and doing a bold, winged eyeliner in black to set it off. I wonder if that would be work appropriate.....

Last up is this Bvlgari Soap that honestly looks like something you would find in a hotel bathroom, but smells great! The scent is very chic and the soap has a fantastic lather and did not dry out my skin. This product hails from Italy and the info says that the fragrance is Eau Parfumee Au The Blanc (so "water perfume of the white"?? How is my French translation? LOL)

This was a pretty decent box from Glossybox, but with an international theme I really would have loved more products that were not available or more obscure in the US. I can not wait to use the snail mask and the nail wraps, but since they are a one shot deal I really want to wait until I have a day off to enjoy the mask and longer nails to really show off the wraps. Can't wait to see what March's theme is!

Goodies Box- February 2013

I am still loving the new look of the Goodies box! This month's theme was about "pairing" both usual and unusual things together.

These Yogurt Pretzels from Snackwell's were absolutely delicious! They were salty and sweet and only 100 calories... you can't beat that. They were nice and crunchy as well and the yogurt melted in my mouth.

This Dark Chocolate Dreams Peanut Butter spread from Peanut Butter & Co was very thick, but the flavor fell short for me. It was not as chocolaty as I would have hoped. There is also a packet of the regular peanut butter in this envelop which I am hoping to try soon.

I have never seen anything like these Honey Roasted Chick Pz before. I am looking forward to trying these in my lunch soon!

I was really excited to pop open these Plentils lentil chips and they were very good...for the first half of the bag. But then they just started making a paste in my mouth and the taste started to remind me more and more of cardboard. Bentley gladly finished off the rest of the chips.

Oh wow, this made me feel soooo naughty while I was eating it. I would never buy a Chips Ahoy! Reese's sandwich thing....and it was sinful.  I will never enjoy one of these again, but while I did I have to say it was delicious.

I giggle every time I get a bacon flavored ANYTHING now...just because so much emphasis is being put on bacon. This Bacon Pop was very intriguing. This was very salty, super bacon-y, and very greasy. I probably would not eat this again, but it was fun to try!

I loved the theme of this box for February and I am hoping that they include more of the obscure treats in future boxes!

Bark Box- February 2013

Bentley's first Bark Box is finally here! I was so excited to open it for him and he was sniffing it from the moment it hit the door.

He recently had a run in with the fence and a nail and ended up looking like Frankenwenie. I came home from work to find him in stitches and a cone. I am just glad my mom was there to take care of him and rush him to the vet :(

Here is Bentley checking out the treats from Wet Noses! He likes the cheddar and the agave & pear flavored treat a lot and I have caught him trying to get them out of the treat box.

The more he sniffed, the more excited he got :) The Get Naked treat bag had some teeth marks on it before he removed his head from the box.

The stuffed Peco toy was by far his favorite. I thought he would tear it up and un-stuff it immediately, but it has been a week and it only has one small hole it in! He has not shown much interest in the Fetch 'n Floss just yet, but I am hoping it will grow on him. The Get Naked treats and the Wet Noses treats are a HUGE hit though :) He can not get enough of them.

For the first box, I have to say I am quite impressed! I am so glad I signed up for the 6 month membership and I can not wait to spoil Bentley with next month's box!

Ipsy Glam Bag- February 2013

My pretty pink envelope from Ipsy came this month and I was so excited to see what the theme for February would be....

The black patent leather cosmetic bag is adorable but everything sticks to it. Make up, hair, fingerprints...
...but who cares about the make up bag when it is holding new cosmetic stuff!

This mascara from Pop Beauty was a big let down. I wore it on a Saturday when it is very slow at work, and sadly every time I went to the bathroom there was more and more black flakes on my upper cheeks from this product. I am going to try it one more time and layering another mascara over it for volume and to see if it keeps it from flaking all over the place.

This black eyeliner pot from MICA cosmetics absolutely made the bag worth it this month! It is very highly pigmented, the black is quite possibly the blackest I have ever seen for a pot liner and a little bit on the brush went a loooong way. It was easy to work with and it stayed in place all.damn.day. Fantastic! I am definitely going to be checking out more products from this brand.

These Lash Cards are little cards you can put against your lid so when you apply your mascara you do not get it on your face.....I rarely have that problem (since I have been wearing make up since I was 10) so while these are cute, I really do not see myself using them. I would also be worried that by putting the card against my lid I would mess up the shadow I applied.

This set of Shadows from Coastal Scents was kind of cute. The colors were very flattering, but they did not blend well for me at all. I am going to try them one more time with a different primer and see if that was the problem. Not in love with Coastal Scents just yet....

This little tube of Flawless & Poreless primer form Pixi was also another product that made the bag worth it. I really like my other Pixi primer that I got from Target, and this one was fantastic as well. It was very hydrating and made my skin feel so soft. It was not greasy at all and my make up stayed put. Love it!

Although this is not my favorite Ispy bag so far, the Mica eye liner and Pixi primer were totally worth getting the bag for. The liner alone is worth way more than $10 so I consider it a win! I can't wait to see what the theme is for March!

POPSugar Must Have Box- February 2013

Ahh, my February PopSugar Box is here <3 and it was a nice Valentine's Day Surprise!

I feel that I must spoil myself just a little....I mean, since I do not have anyone else to do it!

Yey! I love when they include books in their boxes. Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks is not one of my usual genres of reading, but I do not mind coming out of my comfort zone especially when many people have recommended Spark's books to me.

Aww, cute little panties from Hanky Panky! I actually love the chartreuse color of these and even though they are "one size fits all", they actually did fit! They were very soft and stretchy and the thong cut was comfortable. I may have to invest in a few pairs of these!

I purchased a huge bag of these Sweethearts candies to share with all my co-workers because they are so nostalgic so  I was not surprised to find them in my box, but I was excited! I did not eat any of the ones I brought to work so this little box was just for me to enjoy.

I LOVE this Revlon Just Bitten Kissable balm stain! I put it on at night at 9 pm and when I woke up my lips were still tinted! The color is kind of a dusty rose and with a little gloss over top it looks gorgeous. I will be picking up more of these at Target very soon!

Connoisseurs is the brand of jewelry cleaner that I usually use, so I was happy to see this bottle of quick cleaner in my box. This stuff keeps my plugs and eyelets from Anatometal super sparkly!

Yum! Cacao Nibs from Mariebell New York. I have been seeing cacao nibs every where and there were absolutely delicious :)  I am addicted to these healthier little chocolate snacks!

And last up we have another Brokedown product! I loved my scarf that was in one of my earlier boxes, and this wrap around bath towel is so incredibly soft...and adorable! Sadly my boobs are so big that this towel just barely goes around them and hikes the towel up so high that it doesn't cover my butt, but it is still a fantastic towel and will be great for wrapping around my top when I am putting on make up.

Yet another great box from PopSugar this month and I loved the theme of spoiling yourself and all the romantic touches. I wonder what they are going to do for March and St. Paddy's day...

Fancy Box- February 2013

My first Fancy Box finally arrived! I placed my order for my box January 15th (which was on the cut off date) but they did not send me a January box. I submitted an inquiry on their site under "contact us" about when I would be receiving my first box, but I never got a response. I was charged again in February for the monthly dues. Finally, around the 20th, I got my first box.

Adorable wrapping paper was the first thing I saw when I opened it up. It was a light box, but it sounded very full.

Eeeep! A brown infinity scarf! I have wanted to pick one of these up on Etsy, but I hadn't gotten around to it. This one is 100% acrylic which is cheap but very soft. It is large enough that I can wear it as a vest if I really wanted too LOL.

These cold fish ice trays make your ice look like little koi fish! I am going to make some of these so I can surprise my mom with some fun ice cubes for her whiskey.
Goes for $15 here.

How neat! This iHome Portable Mini Speaker looks pretty damn cool. I can't wait to hook it up to my phone so I can listen to music in my bathroom!
Goes for $25 here.

I do not bake a lot of cookies, but I am going to have to soon so I can use this Home Made Cookie Stamper. I think I will cheat though and use a bag of Duncan Hines cookie mix....
Goes for $15 here.

I had seen this Cordies cord organizer before and debated on picking it up (all the charger cables on the side of my bed are a mess) so I was happy to see this one in my box! I am going to make my bedside table look very organized now :) Goes for $15 here.
I have enjoyed one of these Milk Chocolate Pop Bars before (as they were in one of my PopSugar Boxes) and just like last time, this makes one damn good hot chocolate!

These cards of all the products were included in the box as well as 2 stickers. I thought that was a very cool way to feature all the products in the box and I am thinking of a place to show off my blue Popsicle sticker.

My first Fancy box was a hit! I really liked it and I can not wait to get the next one. The only thing I am leery about so far is the customer service. I am sure I will get a chance to test them in the future and I will include that in my review. The total value for this box is about $85.

Yuzen Box- Spring 2013

Here is the first of 4 seasonal boxes from Yuzen. As you can see on the right, Bentley is really interested in something in this box....

I loved the yuzen paper and color theme for this spring box. I am still trying to think of a project to use these gorgeous pieces of paper, but I just don't know what to do!

First up we have these three samples of Jane Iredale lip treatments. The pewter colored tube is "lip drink" which I love. It is a moisturizer and it has a zippy, lemon flavor. The mint green tube is a lip and cheek stain and it is a wonderful idea and has great texture and lasted forever...but the very light pink color was not complimentary to my skin tone. The gold tube was the lip plumper in "Tokyo" and it is kind of shimmery and more like a lip stick. Again, it has a great texture, but not a good color for me. Good news though, my mother LOVES the "sugar and spice" duo from this line and she really appreciated the 2 mini tubes that I gave her and the colors worked for her! I loved these little lip treatments and this mini lip drink tube will fit nicely in my scrubs pocket.
Next up was a shower with this tube of Naturopathica Espresso Mud Body Scrub.....ugh. It smelled like chocolate and bacon, which is pretty nasty for a shower scrub. It has chunks of coffee beans in it which got every where in the shower and I did not really feel that my skin was very exfoliated after my shower.  This was a pretty big disappointment.

Juara Avocado Banana Moisture Mask- I slathered this stuff on my face and did not enjoy the smell at all. It is creamy and thick and heavy. After letting it sit on my face for about 30 seconds, my skin started to sting which was not pleasant at all. I let it sit on there for about 5 minutes before I wiped it off. My skin felt nice and dewy afterwards and there were no dry patches. I am on the fence about this one and this jar has about 5 uses in it.

EOV Plant Essences Parfum- this perfume is very floral and has a lot of rose notes to it. It kind of reminds me of the elderly....

This is the third Red Flower Candle that I have received in my sub boxes and this Blood Orange scent is not only the strongest so far, but in my opinion it is also the best. It smells juicy and fruity and delicious! I think this is what Bentley could smell in the box.

In this little brown box were 2 chocolates from Nova Monda Cacao & Chocolate. One was filled with cacao nibs and one was made with sea salt and they were both so delicious :)

Kneipp Deep Sleep Mineral Bath Salt- I have yet to try this packet of bath salts just yet, but I have a feeling that this week is going to warrant a relaxing bath!

Spa Technologies Marine Repair Cream- this facial cream smells so good I want to eat it! It is very thick but spreads easily and absorbs quickly. I really like this cream!

I took forever to get this review up! I guess working 12-14 hour days is really taking a toll on me :( I can not wait to see what Yuzen has for their Summer box!
